Outdoor Adventure Co – Returns & Refunds Policy
Last updated: August 2026
We want you to be happy with your purchase.
This Returns & Refunds Policy explains our voluntary change-of-mind returns policy as well as your rights where a product is faulty, damaged, unsafe, incorrectly supplied or otherwise fails to meet a consumer guarantee.
Our voluntary returns policy operates in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
1. Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
These rights cannot be excluded or restricted by this Returns & Refunds Policy.
2. Change-of-Mind Returns
In addition to your legal rights, Outdoor Adventure Co offers change-of-mind returns where you contact us within 30 calendar days of delivery.
To qualify for a change-of-mind return, the product must generally:
- be unused;
- be in substantially the same condition in which you received it;
- include its original packaging where reasonably applicable;
- include supplied accessories, manuals and components; and
- be capable of being resold as a new product.
Please contact us before returning an item so that we can provide return instructions.
We may reasonably decline a change-of-mind return where the product does not satisfy these conditions.
This section applies only to voluntary change-of-mind returns and does not restrict Australian Consumer Law rights.
3. Sale and Clearance Products
Sale, clearance and final-sale products are generally not eligible for change-of-mind returns, unless the product listing states otherwise.
This exclusion does not apply where a sale or clearance product is faulty, unsafe, incorrectly described or otherwise fails to meet a consumer guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law.
Your statutory rights apply regardless of whether you purchased an item at full price, on sale or with a discount code.
4. Products That May Not Be Eligible for Change-of-Mind Return
For hygiene, safety or product-integrity reasons, certain products may be excluded from our voluntary change-of-mind policy where this is clearly disclosed before purchase or where the product cannot reasonably be resold once opened or used.
Any such exclusion applies only to change-of-mind returns.
It does not exclude rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
5. Faulty Products
If you believe a product is faulty, defective, unsafe or not of acceptable quality, please contact us.
Your rights depend on the circumstances and whether the failure is major or minor under the Australian Consumer Law.
A product may have a major problem if, for example, it:
- is unsafe;
- is substantially different from its description or sample;
- has a serious problem, or several problems, that would have stopped a reasonable consumer from buying it had they known about them;
- cannot be used for its normal purpose and cannot easily be fixed within a reasonable time; or
- cannot perform a particular purpose that you made known before purchase and cannot easily be fixed within a reasonable time.
Where there is a major failure, you may be entitled to choose a refund or replacement in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law.
Where a failure is not major, we may be entitled to provide an appropriate remedy, such as repair, within a reasonable time.
6. No Arbitrary Time Limit on Consumer Guarantee Rights
The 30-day change-of-mind period does not apply to rights arising under the Australian Consumer Law.
Consumer guarantees can continue to apply for a reasonable period having regard to matters such as:
- the nature of the product;
- its price;
- how it would reasonably be expected to be used; and
- representations made about its expected quality, durability or performance.
A manufacturer’s warranty expiring does not automatically mean that your Australian Consumer Law rights have expired.
7. Damaged or Incorrect Products
If you receive:
- the wrong product;
- an incomplete product;
- a materially damaged product; or
- a product materially different from what you ordered,
please contact us as soon as reasonably practicable.
We may request photographs or other reasonable information so that we can understand the issue and resolve it efficiently.
Nothing in this section limits your Australian Consumer Law rights.
8. Original Packaging and Faulty Products
Original packaging may be required as a condition of a change-of-mind return.
However, you do not lose your rights in relation to a faulty or non-compliant product simply because you no longer have its original packaging.
Where reasonably possible, retaining packaging can help us safely arrange a return and investigate shipping damage.
9. How to Request a Return
Before sending a product back, please contact Outdoor Adventure Co through our contact page or at:
info@outdooradventureco.com.au
Please provide:
- your name;
- order number;
- the product concerned;
- the reason for the return; and
- photographs or other relevant information where appropriate.
We will provide return instructions if a return is required.
Please do not send products to the address shown on a parcel or supplier dispatch label unless we specifically instruct you to do so, as products may be fulfilled from different locations.
10. Assessment of Faults
We may need to inspect a product or obtain information from the manufacturer or supplier to determine the nature of a reported fault.
Any assessment will be conducted within a reasonable time.
Our assessment does not override your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Where a product is confirmed to have a major problem, remedies will be provided in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law.
11. Change-of-Mind Return Shipping
For an accepted change-of-mind return:
- you are responsible for the cost of returning the product to the nominated return location; and
- original delivery charges are generally not refundable, except where required by law.
We recommend using a tracked shipping service for change-of-mind returns.
Until the product reaches the nominated return location, you are responsible for ensuring that a voluntary change-of-mind return is appropriately packaged and sent.
12. Return Costs for Faulty Products
Where a product is confirmed to have a problem for which you are entitled to a remedy under the Australian Consumer Law, we will reimburse reasonable return costs where required by law.
For large, bulky, heavy or difficult-to-return products, please contact us before arranging return freight.
Where required by the Australian Consumer Law, we will arrange collection or otherwise provide an appropriate solution.
13. Refunds
Where a refund is payable, we will generally issue the refund to the original payment method unless another method is agreed or reasonably necessary.
Refund processing times can vary depending on your bank or payment provider.
Where the Australian Consumer Law requires a full refund for a major failure, we will provide the remedy required by law.
For voluntary change-of-mind refunds, applicable original shipping charges may be excluded as explained above.
14. Exchanges
Where an exchange is available, product availability will be confirmed before the replacement is arranged.
If a requested replacement is unavailable, we may offer an alternative or refund as appropriate.
Any alternative product will only be supplied with your agreement.
15. Manufacturer Warranties
Some products may include a manufacturer’s warranty.
A manufacturer’s warranty is additional to, and does not replace, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Depending on the circumstances, we may assist you with a manufacturer warranty claim, but we will not require you to deal directly with the manufacturer where Outdoor Adventure Co has a legal obligation to provide a remedy.
16. Cancellation Before Dispatch
If you wish to cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible.
If we can cancel the order before fulfilment has commenced, we will generally issue a full refund.
If the order has already entered fulfilment or been dispatched, cancellation may not be possible and the change-of-mind return provisions may instead apply.
